You’ve heard of tinting for your car and when you walked past the Home Depot display for window tinting; you couldn’t resist buying a roll, or two of Gila Film.

So far- -so good?
 


Advanced Film Solutions has performed more than 24,000 home installations since we launched our company in early 2007.

Quite a few (too many to mention) were fix up installations.

We were called in to rip off these tints and do it right. . .the second time with Vista, Huper Optik or LLumar Film.

Guys and ladies who actually do this type of work for a living; and there is a wide gap in installation skill sets and ability.

 
  • Bubbles: Too much water, or too little.
  • Gaps: The glass area between the window frame and the film. A novice leaves wide gaps that let sunlight in and look horrible!
  • Straight cuts: We use film handlers to get a factory edge novice DIY tint amateurs do free hand cuts.
  • Lines and creases: When our installers do a project there are no lines or creases. That’s because they have developed the skill over thousands of installations to do outstanding work.
  • The film itself: The film you buy for DIY installations is typically very limited in variety, durability and aesthetics. Of course; you might be a big fan of purple tint??
  • Warranty: We provide a written lifetime warranty and our Vista, LLumar and Huper Optik warranty is one time transferable to the next homeowner. When you do it yourself; there isn’t any warranty.

I’m Burn’in For You – Not With Our Film! LLumar Car Tinting

So the other day an average looking middle-aged fellow comes into our shop and asks us if we can install a ceramic film on his new Infinity?

Now that was an easy question to answer since we carry the FormulaOne Pinnacle Ceramic Films and if you twist my arm the Huper Optik Ceramic.

So YES we can!

To make the waiting time go faster I noted that he was sporting a NY Yankee baseball cap.

Given their recent “failures” I figured it might be topical subject?

I asked if he was from NY?  Since there are not that many Yankee fans who live outside the NY area (as you know!)

He grew up on Long island and travels a lot since he’s a musician.

Now most musicians I have ever met sing in the lobby bar at hotels so I ask him where he sings?

He says he has a group called Blue Oyster Cult and that he’s the lead singer!

Being the dummy I obviously am, I ask him what their big hit was? (I remember the name of the group – but can’t recollect the big hit??)

He simply smiles and says “maybe you remember the hit “Don’t Fear the Reaper?”

That sounded familiar but I still can’t remember the tune. So he pauses, takes a breath and starts singing the song.

Now I remember!!

Our first and possibly our last “star” in our shop.

So here’s a nod to Blue Oyster Cult and Huper Optik Window Film!
